Join us on Friday, April 21st for Basic Electricity #20 with Joker Nies, Gino Robair and Richard Scott in our new venue, König Otto in Berlin, Neukölln.
Gino Robair takes a gestural approach to improvising with live electronics, based on 40 years of performance as a percussionist. He uses all four limbs to control parameters polyrhythmically and also makes use of found objects in his work.
Joker Nies has been experimenting with hardware and software based sound-sources since the 1980’s. He describes himself as an ‘electro-sapiens’ and uses his body to influence the circuits in his synthesizers to make new and unexpected connections and sounds.
Composer, improviser, Basic Electricity co-host and modular man-in-a-suitcase, Richard Scott will tickle his latest love, the EMS Synthi A.
The König Otto is housed in the former Kindl brewery. As we found out at our recent re-launch, it’s a unique space with a gigantic sound.
We look forward to seeing you at the next Basic Electricity on Friday, April 21st!
